Hello, my name is David Veitch, proprietor of Celtworks Limited. I purchased the company from Scott and Sue Russell in June 2005. I am pleased to tell you that Scott Russell will be staying on with Celtworks in the capacity of special technical consultant, which means he’ll be assembling and testing all pipes before they ship. As many of you know, Scott has played bagpipes for over 30 years and in that time has been taught both solo and band playing by some of the World’s greatest players including Michael Grey, Bruce Gandy, John Walsh, Ian MacDonald, and James MacHattie.

I’ve arrived on the bagpipe scene a little more recently. I was born in Galashiels, Scotland, and immigrated to Canada with my parents at the age of 10. Growing up, I remember our home ringing with the sounds of Celtic music, my parents’ way of keeping the old country alive. This instilled in me a great appreciation for all types of music. I always had the desire to learn to play the pipes, but I just couldn’t find the time with a growing family.

About three years ago the time was finally right, and I had the good fortune to find my way to the White Heather Band in Aurora, Ontario. Under their tutelage I learned the basics. I supplemented my learning with camps, private lessons and lots and lots of practice. Before long, I was hooked. I recently became a proud member of a second band, The York Regional Police Pipes and Drums.

My love of piping is what brought me to Celtworks. My goal is to provide the best products, at the best prices, with the best service. Celtworks is run from my own home, so overhead is kept low and pricing more competitive.
