The Sant Brieg and District Pipe Band were created in 1994. It is composed Breton musicians impassioned of Scottish music. They chose the formula of the Pipe Band and carry the Scottish traditional behaviour.
Concerned from authenticity, they obtained the approval of current representing of the clan Campbell of Cawdor to carry the colors (tartan) of this clan.
The Pipe Band takes part in many annual contests, in Brittany (Lokoal-Mendon, Menez-Meur), and also in Scotland. It contributed to the World Pipe Band Championship de Glasgow in 2000 and 2001, like with a contest at the time of the Highland Games of Perth. Since 2002, it also contributes to the European Pipe Band Championship which is held in Belgium, in the town of Alden Biesen. All these contests are of a great interest and essential to the motivation and the musical progression.
Principal events of the Pipe Band take place in Brittany but also with the exterior of the area. It takes part regularly in the Fête des Remparts de Dinan. The Pipe Band also took part in the Francofolies of Spa in Belgique.
The Pipe Band recruits musicians (of all ages). Their complete musical formation is ensured by tested monitors.
