James Ussher, also known as James Ussher (or Usher), was born on January 04, 1581. He was an Irish archbishop and scholar known for his work on chronology and biblical studies.
Ussher is particularly famous for his calculation of the date of creation, which he placed at the evening preceding October 23, 4004 BC, according to the Gregorian calendar. This date was included in his book “Annals of the World,” and his chronology had a significant influence on biblical scholarship and the understanding of historical time in the early modern period.
James Ussher was also the Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, and he played a notable role in the religious and political affairs of his time.
