Eric Liddell, Chariots of Fire athlete, winner of 1924 Olympics 400 metres, died in Japanese internment camp in China.
Eric Henry Liddell was born on the 16th January 1902 in Tientsin (Tianjin) in North China, second son of the Rev & Mrs James Dunlop Liddell who were missionaries with the London Mission Society. His family returned to Scotland when he was five years
